Personal History Darius was born in the Los Angeles Greater Metropolitan Area in 2344 while his father was on deployment. He didn't meet his father until he was almost two years old. From a young age, Darius showed accelerated development both physically and intellectually. In school, he excelled in academics and sports. His mother made sure he prioritized education before extracurricular activities but Darius had a strong competitive side. Along with that, came a smoldering temper that got Darius into trouble on several occasions. It took a lot to set off his temper but when it went off, it was intense. People began avoiding him and he became a social outcast. He began to act out and turned to delinquency. Surprisingly, it was his father that taught him to deal with his anger issues by training in the martial arts. Darius took well to the discipline of the martial arts. He began training in multiple styles and began proficient in several, enough so, that he began to enter competitions. He earned a reputation as a tenacious brawler. While he was in school, he met and started dating Lola. When he graduated from secondary school, he was accepted to Starfleet Academy. He shocked everyone when he declined and instead enlisted in the Marines.

After completing basic training, he returned home and proposed to Lola. They were married and soon were expecting their first child. Darius made it paramount to balance his family and the Corps. He remembered how it felt to have a father that wasn’t always there. Even on deployments, he tried to stay in contact with his family as much as he could.

When war broke out, Darius was called to the front lines. He hated to leave his family but he had a duty. Even though he didn’t know if he would be able to keep the promise, he promised he’d come home. Unfortunately, during a battle, his ship was destroyed. He and several survivors were captured and spent a year as a prisoner of war. With no evidence otherwise, Starfleet listed him as missing in action presumed killed. Lola and his children refused to believe his was dead and held faith that somehow Darius would keep his promise.

When hostilities ended, Darius returned to Earth. After taking several months to rehabilitate and reintegrate, he returned to service as a weapons instructor. The assignment kept his close to home. With his stellar career, he was recommended for Officer Candidate School.
