Mission: Episode 4 - Truth, Justice, and the Federation Way
Location: USS Arcadia, Silent Triangle
Timeline: 1728 Hours, MD 1 (March 3, 2393)

::Big Belly Burger, Deck 2::

Alenis watched quietly as the short haired blonde devoured one double bacon cheese burger after another. She should have stayed with Terri when her parents came to see her, but she thought that they needed some privacy. She certainly didn't expect Captain Ymir to just walk out on her daughter, quite literally. When she went back later, she found the girl curled up in a corner of the living room, crying.

She had never seen Terri cry before. The girl had always been so strong, so fearless, so exhilarating. To see her so vulnerable and so broken, it was awful. But thank the prophets, the Arcadia had its own Big Belly Burger, and some good burgers always cheered Terri up. So she convinced her to change out of her uniform and came up to Deck 2. It's nice to feel normal for a change.

"Are you gonna eat that?" Asked Terri, pointing at the fries on Alenis' plate.

"No, you can have it." Said the Bajoran with a small smile. "So, feeling better?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." answered the blonde as she crammed a handful of fries into her already stuffed mouth. She took the next few moments to chew down all that deliciousness before adding, "Don't worry, I'm fine. Really."

Another bite of her burger.

"She's not my mom, and he's not my dad. They are at best doppelgangers of my parents, and I couldn't care any less about what they think. What's important now is that we get Themie back up and running so that we can go kick some Dominion ass. Pass me that sundae, would you."

Handing her the banana split, Alenis said, "Well, in that case, I suggest that our next stop . . ."

"Hello there, beautiful." A grinning young man in a cadet's uniform interrupted the Bajoran in mid sentence. Gesturing at a table across the room where several other cadets were sitting and giggling, he said, "Before you go back to heaven, would you angels like to join my friends and me for a drink?"

Alenis blinked at the unexpected flattery and nearly chuckled. She found it cute - cheesy, but cute. If she weren't with Terri, she might just take the human up on his offer. But again, the last time she dated someone younger than herself, it was a pretty short-lived and frustrating experience. So perhaps not.

Terri, on the other hand, was not at all impressed

"Get lost." she said and continued munching on her burger, not even looking up at him. "And grow up, heaven isn't real." There wasn't even a hint of sarcasm in her voice, just annoyance. She hated it when people interrupted her and her burgers.

Rebuffed, Trent glanced back at his friends and saw one of them pantomiming a dancing chicken across the room. He frowned slightly. He couldn't just go back there empty handed; he would be everyone's laughing stock for weeks and Lia would never let him forget the humiliation for the rest of his life. There was no way he would give the Trill that satisfaction.

Looking back at the short-haired blonde, he flashed a big smile. "My bad. It's just that you look so heavenly. Is your dad the devil then? Cause you are hot as hell."

As soon as those words were out of his mouth, Alenis hit her face with the palm of her hand. No one had ever badmouthed Terri's father in front of her and got away with it. Yes, it was just a silly pickup line, but Terri wouldn't care.

And sure enough, the blonde rose from her seat and stepped up to the young man.

"Oh, is that right?" she said, right before grabbing the back of his neck and yanking his head down until her knee smashed into his face. As the man staggered backward in pain, she followed up with a nasty right hook, sending him onto the empty table behind him. As the table collapsed under his weight and momentum, she stepped over and added to his pain with a ferocious kick to the side.

"Another word about my dad, and I'm gonna beat the crap out of you so hard, you can forget about ever walking up right." she warned him menacingly. She was about to give him another stomp, but someone grabbed her arm.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing?" asked Lia as she dragged the other woman off her friend. "Trent might be a jackass, but he didn't deserve this."

"Oh, yeah? What are you gonna do about it?!"

"Terri . . ." Alenis tried to grab the blonde's shirt and calm her before it turned into a full-blown brawl. But she was already too late, and Terri had already freed her self from the Trill's grab and knocked her down onto the deck as well.

Having overcome the initial shock at the turn of events, the other two cadets still sitting at their table rushed over to their friends' aid. One of them, a human with a third-year cadet's pips on his uniform, swung his fist at Terri. "You asked for it, bitch."

Terri parried the man's strike and landed her own fist square on his nose, breaking it with an audible "crack." But as she focused her attention on him, the other cadet, a Cardassian, smacked her in the back with a piece of broken chair, knocking her over and into Alenis. The force of the strike sent the both of them onto the floor.

Terri quickly sprang back up, and despite the pain coursing through her back, there was not a trace of care on her face, but when she saw the cut on Alenis' cheek and the blood that was beginning to drip, fire flared in her eyes. Turning back to face the Cardassian cadet and his other three friends, who had just got back onto their own feet, she exploded and threw herself at them.

"How dare you, you poozers!"

Alenis struggled to stand up with the help of another customer, just in time to see Terri wrestling with the cadets and trading blows. She was outnumbered, but she was ferocious. She was exhilarating.

"Security! Get out of the way. Nothing to see here." Shouted an Orion ensign as she pushed her way through the crowd that had gathered, followed closely behind by two other security officers.

"Oh, dear . . ." Alenis murmured to herself. It was New York all over again. Well, at least this time around they weren't being chased like fugitives.
